Meteorologist Rob Lydick joined the Live Doppler 15 Fury Storm Team at WANE-TV back in October of 2013.

Rob grew up in the small western Pennsylvania town of Blairsville (about an hour east of Pittsburgh) and knew from a young age that his career would involve weather. He attended Penn State for his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and then moved to Bangor, Maine to work as a weekend meteorologist at WABI-TV5. While living in Maine, he had the chance to forecast hurricanes, snowstorms, and blizzards. He also got to do some hiking, ziplining, and snowmobiling in an outdoor adventure segment called “Roaming Rob.”

Rob began working at NewsChannel 15 as a Meteorologist/Co-Host for First News Weekend back in 2013. From the brutal cold and relentless snow in the “Toughest Winter Ever” back in 2013-2014 to the devastating tornado outbreak in August of 2016, Rob has experienced all that Indiana has to offer. When he’s not on First News Weekends or filling in for one of the other meteorologists in the Live Doppler 15 Fury Storm Team, Rob reports on weather news, works on seasonal weather specials, and hosts feature segments like “Wild on WANE” and “The Green Thumb.”

In his spare time, Rob enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time with friends, and wine-tasting.
